Lew - I'm glad we see eye to eye Again, thanks for the positive comments on my review.

dkny75 - I no longer have the Toshiba HD-A1 in my possession and did not use it with the upgraded firmware. I can't tell you if the firmware improved picture quality. You could always PM the other reviewers (Pat, Sam, or Herb) who use the HD-DVD player regularly. Maybe they'll have an opinion on it. Keep me posted. I'd like to know too.
