I already have the U. K. disc of Play Dirty.

If Robert Harris or a HTF reviewer gives Captain From Castile the thumbs up, I'll buy that immediately. It has a superb score from Alfred Newman, and on one of his TV shows Henry Mancini said it was this score that persuaded him to try writing for films. I suspect Fox may be working with sub-standard elements so I'll wait for an informed opinion about this disc.

Great Halloween line up :D Just kidding

Anyway, nothing really jumping out out me, but not every month will have a home run title for some of us, but at the very least it's a chance to check out a title or two that some of us wouldnt have seen otherwise :)
Im on the Western kick so maybe Ill try Wild Bill and also Captain from Castile because of the great cast..

One for me this time. I'm happy to have the opportunity to upgrade my DVD of The Captain from Castile.

Ah, The Pirates Of Blood River, I can recreate the double bill of Mysterious Island/The Pirates Of Blood River that I saw way back in 1962, aged 11.

I'm also interested in The Captain From Castile, but that depends on what it looks like, being a forties Fox colour film (I hope it has a better greyscale that Drums Along The Mohawk).

Fine month with three out of four for me: a film by Walter Hill, one by Andre De Toth, and one from Hammer!

Definitely get Play Dirty. I have the crummy single DVD with Dogs of War and Purple Plain. All of the films are compressed so much that it's almost impossible to watch them.

I'm probably in for all 4. Never seen PLAY DIRTY, so that's the only unknown for me.

Wow outstanding selection. Play Dirty, Pirates of Blood River and Captain from Castile. 2 months in a row where I want 3 out of 4 titles instead of 1 twilight time is on a roll.

I agree there are worthy titles here, but has TT given up on Halloween-themed releases?

WOW, Captain From Castile and Pirates of Blood River! I'll be picking these up full price and immediately. Along with the upcoming Twelve Mile Reef, they're really hitting my "pay now" button hard these days. Here I'd thought Kino would be the one releasing Captain. Great news.

Play Dirty is an excellent film directed by Andre De Toth and well loved by Martin Scorsese. I also am very happy to see Wild Bill get a blu-ray release as a big Walter Hill fan. The film also plays as if it is the movie that leads into the first episode of Deadwood.
