Four actors at the top of their game sear the screen in a moody and menace-laced
thriller set in New York’s Hell Kitchen, now on high-definition Blu-ray!
“STATE OF GRACE”
Limited Edition BLU-RAY Release
Only 3,000 units available at
Once they are gone – they are gone!
RELEASE DATE: TUESDAY, JUNE 9TH, 2015

“A wild Irish blood bath set in what’s left of Hell’s Kitchen…Penn’s affecting performance [is] a strong and silent struggle with his warring emotions.” —Rita Kempley, The Washington Post

“The phenomenal Gary Oldman…gives an electrifying performance that both establishes a tragic, terrifying character and explains why that character’s world is such a perilous place…With coolly expressive cinematography by Jordan Cronenweth and an insinuating Ennio Morricone score, State of Grace has a somber and chilling tone.” —Janet Maslin, The New York Times

Directed by Phil Joanou and written by Dennis McIntyre, State of Grace (1990) is a neo-noir crime film inspired by the real-life Hell’s Kitchen Irish-American gang, the Westies. Sean Penn stars as Terry, returning to the neighborhood after a ten-year absence, getting involved with mad childhood friend Jackie (Gary Oldman), Jackie’s gang leader-brother (Ed Harris) and sister—Terry’s old flame— Kathleen (Robin Wright). Complicating matters: Terry’s secret mission. Featuring a stunning score by the one and only Ennio Morricone, featured on this Twilight Time release as an isolated track.

Veteran director Anatole Litvak showcases an all-star cast in a dark and daring
World War II suspense thriller making its long-awaited Blu-ray debut!
“THE NIGHT OF THE GENERALS”
Limited Edition BLU-RAY Release
Only 3,000 units available at
Once they are gone – they are gone!
RELEASE DATE: TUESDAY, JUNE 9TH, 2015

“A handsome film…a more logical, understanding, and historically aware example of the thriller genre than we are accustomed to seeing.” —Hollis Alpert, The Saturday Review

“Within the malevolent environment of the Nazi high command…a lurid and mordant screen account of the unmasking of a general officer who likes to disembowel prostitutes…For those who like vivid melodrama, there is plenty of it here.”
—Bosley Crowther, The New York Times

Anatole Litvak directs and Sam Spiegel produces The Night of the Generals (1967), an unusual World War II crime thriller about a Nazi investigation into the murder of a prostitute. Major Grau (Omar Sharif) finds himself focusing on three suspects: the Generals Tanz (Peter O’Toole), Kahlenberg (Donald Pleasence), and Seydlitz-Gabler (Charles Gray)—all three of whom, it seems, are also involved in a plot to kill Hitler. Also starring Tom Courteney, Joanna Pettet, and Philippe Noiret, shot by the great Henri Decaë, and featuring a score by Maurice Jarre, available on this Twilight Time release as an isolated track.

François Truffaut directs Jean-Paul Belmondo and Catherine Denueve
in an unforgettable Fllm Noir Français on Blu-ray for the very first time!
“MISSISSIPPI MERMAID”
Limited Edition BLU-RAY Release
Only 3,000 units available at
Once they are gone – they are gone!
RELEASE DATE: TUESDAY, JUNE 9TH, 2015

“A film noir shot in dazzling color, a Hitchcock movie with the soul of a Jean Renoir drama. The latter is this movie’s dedicatee, and his humane vision of the animal that is man is very much in evidence.”
Ty Burr, The Boston Globe

“So full of lovely, complex things—of unannounced emotions, of ideas, of the memories of other movies…that it defies easy definition and blithely triumphs…It is the creation of a superior moviemaker who works eccentrically in the classical tradition.”
Vincent Canby, The New York Times

“A cool combo of film noir, star vehicle, and picaresque romance. It’s vintage Truffaut, and a great way to get acquainted or reacquainted with one of cinema’s true masters.” —sfgate.com

Pantheon director François Truffaut’s adaptation of Cornell Woolrich’s Waltz into Darkness, Mississippi Mermaid (1969) stars the iconic Jean-Paul Belmondo as a wealthy plantation owner on Réunion Island who falls madly in love with his mail-order bride (the stunning Catherine Deneuve), despite the fact that she is not quite what she seems—and is, in fact, a lot worse. This tale of obsessive love features music by Antoine Duhamel, available on this Twilight Time release as an isolated track.

For the Rock ‘n’ Roller in you: the groundbreaking British musical
extravaganza hits Blu-Ray for the very first time!
“ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS”
Limited Edition BLU-RAY Release
Only 3,000 units available at
Once they are gone – they are gone!
RELEASE DATE: TUESDAY, JUNE 9TH, 2015

“An inventive, slangy, poetic celebration of youth and jazz and London…The film has a glossy immediacy, and you can feel the flash and determination that went into it.”—Pauline Kael, The New Yorker

Absolute Beginners is a movie about style…it has endless flair with no self-importance…high pop culture.”
Caryn James, The New York Times

“A terrifically inventive musical for the screen. Daring attempt to portray the birth of teenagedom in London, 1958, almost exclusively through song.”—Variety

Director Julien Temple’s free-form rock musical adaptation of Colin MacInnes’ cult-fave book about life in late-Fifties London, Absolute Beginners (1986) offers music and performance by the likes of David Bowie, Sade, Ray Davies, The Style Council, and Gil Evans. Focusing on the British music scene on the cusp of the 1960s, the film features a breakout performance from Patsy Kensit and a fabulously stylized visual élan.

Pardon my ignorance, but when they say "Only 3,000 units available at www.screenarchives.com", do they really mean 'will be available', or am I blind?

That's because Twilight Time's press releases are teleported from the future (notice the date of the press release is 6/1/2015) and on that date the present tense of "are available" will be correct. :)

I think the thing is Ron gets in his time machine and goes into the future and then brings those press releases back to us in the past...um...I mean present...to Ron this is the past...or maybe time has no relevance to Ron because he has a time machine.

You know word is Ron has already seen J.J. Abrams' new Star Wars film and Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones in the reboot of that series...which is all great but even better if he started sharing next week's winning lottery numbers.

For those interested -- upcoming Free signed TT Promo up for Wednesday 5/13 at 4pm on the SAE website

" A limited special offer from TWILIGHT TIME - an autographed copy of TO SIR, WITH LOVE - signed by Actress JUDY GEESON! Available Wednesday, May 13th at 4PM Eastern. This will be available to those customers who spend a minimum of $119.80, before shipping, on other TWILIGHT TIME product."

I've never been good at predicting these -- some sell out in 3 minutes and some last a few hours (more the former than latter)
so for those that are interested be ready.
Best Advice
1) Add your Twilight Time items to your shopping cart ahead of time and make sure the pre-ship total is 119.80 (4 std items, but watch out for those 24.95 titles if you are just adding 4)
2) Have you account password, CC/Security Number at your fingertips
3) Be online a few minutes before 4pm EDT Wednesday
4) Add the Free Promo to you cart as soon as it appears Live and checkout immediately. Adding it to your shopping cart
doesn't reserve a title until you finish checkout. From you click "Checkout" you will be asked to sign in to your account regardless
of whether you were already signed in.

After several miscues with SAE's steam-engine equivalent of a website, I got Night of the Generals.
The third time was the charm for me ordering NIGHT OF THE GENERALS and THE YOUNG LIONS. First two attempts at checking out gave two different error messages.
