I just watched this too Sam but i have to disagree with you on the movie.
It was funny enough for me and i thought Kate's(Fey's) sarcasm was really funny.
the softness in some scenes wasn't as noticble to me, i really wasn't paying that much attention to the look, to notice so you're probaly right on that.
the Box back doesnt mention the alt ending and i didn't make it all the way through to the end of the movie on u-control so I don't know.
"then they went and butchered what could have been some interesting featurettes by putting them into some bastardized interactive tool for no other reason than because they could, without regard for any lack of logic that this had."
This is exactly right, just too bad it continues to be a "special feature".
I watched this movie Friday and thought it was hilarious, specifically the first half. Amy Poehler was great as was Fey who played her character well. One can say her character wasn't that funny but a woman like that isn't really funny. I know a 27 yr old woman who is all into work like Kate and can confirm she acts like Kate although Kate had more sarcasm which was good. It is possible that my personal experience with her is part of the reason why I found the movie so amusing and good.
A solid comedy that met my expectations.
I also didn't find the elevator baby scene to be creepy. I chuckled at it and also thought it was heartwarming since it showed how much she wants that in her life.
Thanks for the input Rob, as I said it might just be me who was weirded out like that. I don't have kids of my own but if a stranger was touching mine while my back was turned, even in an innocent way, without making it obvious what they were doing to me, I'd be on alert.
