The Movie

Andy(Josh Meyers) is a successful music executive with a beautiful and loving girlfriend Lauren(Krysten Ritter). Andy should be at the top of the world but he realizes one day that he is not exactly everything he could be in his lovemaking skills with his girlfriend. On top of that, he is challenged for Lauren’s affections by Daniel(Ian Somerhalder), a handsome friend who is coming on too strong for Andy’s tastes. Thus, Andy embarks on a quest of discovery to learn "How To Make Love To A Woman."

Andy’s quest for knowledge takes him to a number of strange places, including mystic love experts and porn star Jenna Jameson as herself. Ken Jeong(Community) has a brief but amusing role as a quintessential expert on love and women. Although the plot is simplistic, this film has some laughs thanks to the script by Dennis Kao and the terrific cast that brings the story alive.

Video

The movie is in 1080p high definition in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The picture quality is consistently good. There is a minimal amount of grain apparent as to be expected with a movie filmed on high definition cameras. There is no edge enhancement nor DNR apparent; if it is present at all, it was applied properly such that seems invisible.

Audio

The English DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 tracks perform adequate service to the film. The volume of dialogue is always appropriate and properly audible over the music and sound effects. The audio does not really shine except during the musical portions with songs by Mayday Parade, Yellowcard, Saosin, Hello, Goodbye, and others. Eagle-eyed viewers will notice posters for these groups on the walls of Andy’s office in the film.

Conclusion

If you like American Pie or any of its variations, then you might find some laughs to be had in How To Make Love To A Woman. The video and audio are more than adequate, and the special features include a wealth of material on the making of How To Make Love To A Woman. This film does not exactly reinvent this genre, but it gives the viewer what they want to see, for the most part. If you hear the expression "taking your girl to Orlando" in the near future, you will know it came from this film. (It may not make it as big as "MILF" but it will still make its mark.)

This film is recommended to romantic comedy fans looking for some laughs.
