Hi guys, new member here. Looks like you guys have a great forum here and tons of sections with plenty of information.
I have a couple of questions.
I looking for your opinions/comparison on a couple of HT receivers and how they run in Stereo mode. The brands in question are Onkyo and Marantz. How do these 2 compare with each other when running in stereo in terms of sound, clarity etc. Also, I've heard that Onkyo's power ratings are overrated. Is there any truth to this?
Or if any of you have experience and specific models, the 2 models are the Onkyo SR-TX700 and the Marantz SR7300.

    Thanks

I have listened to the Marantz model but it seemed to lose a little detail on the higher volume ranges, but that was using a dvd-a disc metallica black album to be precise. I havent listend to the Onkyo

I had an Onkyo 575 until last month and in comparison to the Sony DA2ES that I bought, the Onkyo totally blows the Sony away in 2ch stereo. I exchanged the Sony for a Denon 2803 yesterday so I will see how it compares to the trusty old Onkyo after I install it.

IMO the Marantz is the best built of the 2 brands
and the company is well known for the musicality
    of it's products .
