Hi again all,

I am familiar with Panasonic, Sony, Harman Kardon etc. I would like to know a little about Onkyo and Denon receivers. Are they better, worse, or about the same as the "well known" brands as far as dependability, construction, etc? Do they have a "reputation" (good or bad)like Bose speakers and Monster cables. I currently have two Kenwood receivers (VR-309 and VR-509) and I am happy with them, but my 309 is a little outdated for what I want as far as inputs/outputs and sound modes (no Prologic II). Basically, I'm asking if they are worth the price.

Thanks,

RichN

I think that they are very well worth the price. I jsut recently upgraded my receiver from a Pioneer VSX-D509S(paid about $250 or something) to an Onkyo 797, a little over $800. The difference is huge! The construction is also so much better! I think that the Onkyos and Denons are very worth the price premium over the brands such as Sony, Pioneer, and JVC.
