    A. Most popular HT based forum?
    B. Most successful HT based forum?

    Thanks,

HTF is the only one I know of, so I'll say HTF for both.

AVS is the best for hardware discussion (especially projectors).
HTF is the best for actual movie talk (I don't think there's another place on the net where you can find such intelligent discussion, with actual film pros joining in from time to time).

I enjoy both equally, and spend quite a bit of time visiting both each day [IMG]

    Can't answer your question.

Some other forums I read semi-regularly:

AVS Forum: very good for hardware, including HTPC talk. Haven't looked at their software forums because ours are so damn good.

Audio Circle: I read this forum and see myself 15-20 years ago. Good if you really want to know what those green markers will do to your CDs (yeah, right [IMG]). Probably bad, overall, for recovering audiophiles like myself.

Hydrogen Audio: I have a particular interest in compressed audio and psychoacoustics, so I read this often. I'm crazy like that. I wish these topics were discussed here more often, so I try to take part in them when they pop up in the HTPC and Music sections.

From the blowing-smoke dept.: at the end of the day, this place is more consistently entertaining and informative than any related forum I've stumbled across (although, to be fair, any direct comparisons are difficult to make).

I use AVS for information regarding HTPCs and my CRT projector.

I come here for movie talk, software discussion and after hours [IMG]

Its impossible to say which is the best as each tends to offer something slightly different. Most people on one forum tend to surf the others as well as its a fairly small community over all. Still of the one's I visit I like HTF, HTT, AVS and HTG

AVS seems to get a lot of traffic, but I find HTF to be more user-friendly...and easier on the eyes. I only use AVS or others if I'm looking for something specific.

HTF has everything I could ever want, except a place like TDB, which always has the newest news and HT box art.

He is referring to The Digital Bits, a site with whom HTF has enjoyed a long relationship.
