I recently sold my hsu vtf2 to a fellow forum member. He received the sub and hooked it up but said alls he is getting out of it for sound is garbled and distorted. Now I know that the sub was in perfect working order when I sent it out beings I was using it the night before. So, what i'm asking is if the sub could have been damaged during shipping to have caused this and what would cause the sub to sound like that? He said if HSU can't help him on the phone he was going to send the sub back. First off I don't feel responsible for what happened but I do feel bad that it happened. I will try my best to correct the situation even if it involves sending the sub back for a new one. Also, how does the insurance work with UPS? I had it insured so what does this do for me?

Was he replacing an existing sub or was this his first venture into subs?

If he was replacing an existing one and using the old cables and settings, then there could be something that got damaged on the VTF2 in transit. I would have him inspect the driver for physical damage.

If he is starting from scratch, then there could be all kinds of things that could be amiss. From improper hookup to bad interconnects to defective sub out on the receiver, and so forth.
