How's this for low-cost isolation? (1 Viewer)

I've been thinking about/reading up on isolation products and with the exception of a precious few, find them pretty darn expensive.

That said, I think I've hatched an idea that won't cost too much but should look really cool:

Use (affordable!) Vibrapod isolators and top them with a custom-cut piece of 3/8" or 1/2" beveled glass (swiped the glass idea from the Vibrapod site, but thought a thicker piece would be better for heavier stuff and look a little nicer). I'll have the glass cut to the exact dimensions of my CD player and preamp so the finished product looks "matched" to the component.

I know there are cheaper routes (MDF), but I think the glass will look cooler and provide a more rigid isolation barrier.

What think? Other suggestions?

well it sounds as if it'll look nice. as to whether there'll be any audible benefit, that remains to be seen or heard.
