It's been a while, so I can't remember the specifics, but I think there was uneven color/lighting within the same scenes, lots of ringing, and very grainy*. In short, in need of a restoration, but it's as good as we'll get for a while.
-Dave (*I'm all for retaining the original grain of the film - it seemed excessive on this DVD)
The film does need a bit of restoration work, however much of the cinematography was designed to imitate the work of fashion photographers.

I think you should purchase the DVD if you like the movie. It's not perfect but is watchable and cheap since undergoing a price reduction several months ago. You can purchase it for $13.56 shipped from DeepDiscountDVD.
