Not everyone is a fan of this movie (Howard the Duck) but was wondering if this movie will ever be release on a legit region 1 DVD? Ebay has them out there but as all region. How can we get this movie released?

Not until the movie is updated with a CGI Howard and all new FX for the epic Howard vs. Dark Overlord showdown.

As with many unavailable DVD's HTD is a bootleg. I don't think sales numbers would ever justify the costs in creating this in a first run, unless it were to be a GoodTimes title. I doubt Lucas ever wants this film to be made public again.

I dunno why, but I've always liked this movie. I'd like to have it on DVD, but doubt it will ever will be, mainly due to Lucas.

Oh know why you've "always liked this movie." For the same exact reason I have "always liked this movie."

Young Lea Thompson in her underwear.

I'd be happy to sit thru it again just for that.

(All the best for a safe and happy new year to everyone on HTF!)

I don't know why everyone thinks Howard the Duck is Lucas' movie. It's not.He didn't write the screenplay or story treatment and he didn't direct it.All he did was serve as a producer as a favor for HIS FRIENDS WHO MADE THE FILM - Gloria Katz and Willard Huyck.

Anyone ever see the ending of George Lucas In Love? I loved their vision of Lucas's inspiration for HTD.
