Howard Stern Show DVD's?? (1 Viewer)

Has there ever been any talk of the Howard Stern show (the one on the E! channel, or otherwise) ending up on DVD?? It would make for a great collection IMHO, and would probably sell a killing.

I really don't care about the E! shows, but I would love to see his 1990-1992 WWOR Ch. 9 shows released in a boxed set. That was some of the best television ever seen!

A listener asked Howard about this just a couple of weeks ago, Howard said that he would love to do it but he didn't have time right now.
BTW: He also mentioned that the station won't let him have the tapes for his channel 9 shows.

I think Stern tried to get it, but Ch 9 wanted too much money. Way better than the E! or CBS shows.

Pee Wee's Play with himself house, Ted Kennedy stuff, Madonna, Stern (Star) Trek, Sexorcist, Stuttering John, etc. The Ch 9 shows were the best.

That is correct.

Maybe once he's done with radio in a few years and he's got his production company running well, he'll pay Ch. 9 the amount they want, but until then forget it.

E! would probably do it, but not until after the show has run it's course.

I'd like a SE of Private Parts, but Howard said no because that part of his life is over and done with.

Ch 9/UPN can't show them? If Stern won't buy it, why can't they put them on? The live commercials with the strippers would need to be edited out.

Ch. 9 and Stern jointly hold the right to his TV show. Therefore, neither can show it.

I suppose it's like a fine wine- it gets better with time.

Stern wanted to add a whole bunch of stuff to the Private Parts dvd when it originally came out, but Paramount wasnt too interested in it he said, so it never took off.

The logical solution for the Channel 9 material is to form a revenue-sharing partnership for the release. Then nobody has to pay anybody else a bunch of money up front, and all parties involved make a ton of money.

It's not rocket science.

I saw an interview with the director of the movie, Betty Thomas, she said she was opposed to any extras or commentaries on DVD. She is a big critic of this. She feels it takes away from the movie.

69 Channel 9 shows + I heard there's a 2 hour outtakes video. How many DVDs would that be? Roughly 53 hrs of material.

Howard announced this morning that he is working on an uncensored DVD. He said that if the deal goes through, it'll be ready by Christmas.

To expand on what Rob T said, Howard mentioned that it would be uncensored (unfogged) portions from the E! show. That's about all he had to say about it.

I would kill to see Whack Pack DVDs uncensored, especially Hank the Angry Dwarf ones! Got a little too drunk and threw up 7 times to commemorate Hank's passing, but hey, we all mourn in our own way. One video I NEVER want to see again is a certain Beetlejuice video which has shown up on the net from time to time. Let's put it this way, Beetlejuice shouldn't be doing porn.
