Plamsma, DLP,LCD are all inferior to CRT in terms of
Contrast,Brightness and Black Level..

I would have ran out and bought one by now if they had a
superior image to my RPTV...

As for FP... Only if it's 3 CRT... I would NOT buy an FP
that I have to replace $500.00 bulbs every 2000 hours...

Organic LED is the WAY.... I have seen LED displays that
can do 256 or 64 million colors (large scale advertising)
and they are amazing.. All they have to do is mount the
SMT LED's in small RGB Clusters and there ya go...

LED's last hundreds of thousands of hours... On second thought..

Perhaps the TV industry doesn't want that!

Whether you like it or not, the traditional CRT type setups are a thing of the past. They are inferior picture wise but the 95% of the public that keeps this market going doesn't really care. The market's desire for lighter televisions is alot bigger than you think.

Constantly improving technology will continue to make the PQ of non-CRT displays better. In the near future I believe that the PQ difference of high-end displays will be inperceptible to most people.

Why is this being discussed on the speaker forum?
I was going to ask the same thing...this was a good thread before it got seriously derailed...perhaps an admin can consolidate some of the posts from here onto the display devices forum ?
