I just tried a couple of Fox titles on the iTunes Store App that I have in HD, but are available in 4K and I can't purchase those 4K versions either unless I use the "gift myself" method.
That's true, your post reminded me that I have a John Wayne movie "The Wings of Eagles" in SD on iTunes and I've been waiting for months to purchase that title in HD, but hoping the pricing will decrease from $9.99 to $4.99. Anyhow, I was always able to purchase that HD digital on iTunes store front if I wanted to, but refuse to do so at $9.99. The same with "The Awful Truth" before it got a Criterion Blu-ray release last year, but the pricing was even more at $12.99.Oh, for crying out loud, Cranston, you are talking about SD. Apple has ALWAYS allowed you to upgrade SD purchases to HD/4K. It's the titles that are stuck in HD that ported to iTunes through Movies Anywhere that we are talking about.
