I have a Panasonice AE900U projector connected to my comcast hd-dvr box, as well as a Panasonic Q50 DVD player.

Before, when I had my Toshiba 40" TW40x81 rear projection TV, I could turn on closed captioning throught the TV setup.

I cannot find how to enable it for the projector.

Anyone have an idea on how to do that?
    Thanks

I use the AE500U and always turn on closed captioning from the source, not the projector. I wasn't aware these projectors had CC ability, but if they do, there has to be a menu option and even then, I am not certain which connection options would include the CC data.

You need to turn this on in the source. The pj doesn't have any CC ability that I am aware of.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't CC disabled over a progressive signal? I have a HD RPTV and can watch CC when my Standard Def cable box is my source, but when my progressive scan DVD player is the source, no captions.

This is why I prefer my DVDs to have English subtitles whereever possible and one of the reasons why I haven't moved from my SD cable box to a HD cable box.
