Does anyone have a good source for the steps to disable windows messenger (more thorough than just unclicking it in Run-->msconfig--> selective startup)??

That's one of the reasons I'm thinking about checking Linux out because I hate that the messenger keeps coming up and MS answer is to simply shut it off at the beginning or hide it which I don't consider a good enough answer.
