How to configure DVD player for playing audio cds? (1 Viewer)

Hello

I have Apex660 DVD player, which can play MP3 and obviously music cd's also. It is hooked to Sherwood Reciver, As follows

1) S Video out of DVD player goes to S video In on Receiver

2) Left & Right Audio out of DVD player goes to Audio of Receiver

The DVD player plays DVDs very well, but while playing AUDIO CD's or MP3's. All the sound comes from Centre speaker, not Left & Right speakers???

Can anyone tell me how to connect DVD player to Receiver Listen to play audio cd as normal cd player would?

Make sure your receiver isn't in Pro-Logic mode. Put it in Stereo mode and it should play properly.

As stated above, the receiver's mode should fix things.

You may want to try using the digital audio output of your DVD player for CD listening (you didn't mention that you have such a connection on your receiver). Compare the digital output of the DVD player to the analog outputs and stick with what sounds better to you. Make sure you select the appropriate source on the receiver for each input (as well as the mode).
