I have a Directv+ DVR and would like to archive to my computer with a DVD Burner. First, is this the best idea or would it be better to buy a DVD player/recorder to hook directly to the DVR and TV? Second, If I go to the computer with this, Do I just use an audio and a video connection right to my computer?

    Any help is appreciated.

If you want to edit out commercials, capture to your computer. One of the cheapest cards is this but if you already have a TV Tuner card with A/V inputs, that will work as well.
