I'm looking to purchase the Samsung HCN436W RPTV in a few weeks. The downside to this set is there's no room on the top to place a center channel speaker. My center channel is a Polk Audio CS300, which I believe is close to 20lbs.

I've seen center channel shelves such as this one.

I'm just worried it will place too much extra stress on the back of the TV. Does anyone have experience with these shelves and RPTVs?

hey..I used the same shelf when I had my 32" RCA TV..it worked really well even though the RCA TV had a curved top..I also have one in the bedroom for my DVD player and satellite box..I now have a philips HDTV 46" and I don't use the shelf anymore, but I still use the one in the bedroom..my centre is quite heavy also..it has 2 6.5's and a 1" tweet..doubt if it would exceed 10 lbs though..I haven't had any problems with it so far just sitting on the TV..
