How often to calibrate TV? (1 Viewer)

Subject says it all...
I last calibrated my TV about 18 months ago with Video Essentials.
Does it need to be redone every once in a while or good to go for years?
(I have a 32" Sony that's about 7-8 years old with S-video connection for DVD & Sat.)

I'm sure "it doesn't hurt" to do it every once in a while, but it's kinda time consuming (I'd rather watch a movie than calibrate my set!), so I'm looking to see if anyone has noticed that things get a little off every X months/years...

Thanks,
Rob

If you haven't made any changes to gear, I don't feel a recal would be necessary. After the power goes out, etc... I usually recheck it, but it almost never needs adjustment. It really only takes about 10-15 min to recheck, since you shouldn't sit through all the info, just skip right to the test patterns (after the warm up period).

I double-check mine about every three months or so. So far, I haven't had to change any settings after my initial AVIA calibration. I did recalibrate after switching from the "Neutral" to "Warm" setting.
