about $4200 cdn.

Such a killer machine yet a horrible soundcard as far as conflicts go. Would suggest something like the Turtle Beach santa cruz. If needed a seperate IEEE 1394 card or board that supports it native.

Also a little more and you could go to a nice 17" LCD monitor. About the same viewing area but much much less desk space required plus it's about 60lbs lighter.

The Audigy 2 is considerably improved over the original. I would be surprised if it caused problems.

Don't sell the new LCD's short for gaming. I currently run a Samtron 95P CRT monitor. Pretty similar to the samsung you are looking at other than it is not flat. My Buddy is running a Envision 17" LCD that looks just as good as my CRT for gaming. The main thing is just don't cheap out on the monitor and you'll be fine. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to buy an LCD for gaming.
