How many watts/channel do I need to properly run these? (1 Viewer)

I am considering upgrading to paradigm monitor 7's or 11's or the studio 60's. How many watts per channel do you think I need to properly run these speakers? Anyone's experiences would be helpful. thanks

Will depend on your room, distance to the speaker and which one of the three you decide on.

Mon7 = 90dB/W/m
Mon11 = 91dB/W/m
Studio60 = 87dB/W/m

Mon7 and 11 will require very close to the same power level. Studio60 will require twice as much power to reach the same output level.

Hi Mike,
I have Monitor 7's with a 100 wpc Yamaha receiver. They run fine. Of course the more you can throw at them the better but I am happy with what I am running. My room is approx. 15 feet by 12 feet with 10 foot ceiling.

I auditioned 7s and 11s with a Marantz SR7300. Both sounded good, even at elevated levels, but I think they would be happier with a bit more power. The 60s, I would say, want as much power as you can afford. I'd consider a minimum of 100 honest watts, but 125-150 would be that much better.
