I'm trying to convince my wife that this is common, so help me out here! I have about ten unopened DVD's in my sparse collection and somehow I cut a deal where I would not buy any more until I actually watch the ones I have. Oh well, guess I better go pop in "Final Destination" and get started![IMG]

I actually have none, but not because I've watched all of them. I always open my DVDs when I get them home to make sure the disc isn't loose, scratched, or missing.

I recommend that you have "none".

What happens if you open a DVD that you purchased 10 months ago and realize that it popped loose from the hub during shipping. Do you think the shipper is going to take back a DVD that you say you just discovered (10 months after the fact) was broken during shipment?

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as Chuck and Sam. But DVD's that I've bought but have yet to watch number around 20-40 in my 200+ disc collection.

Chris, it's normal - I have about 150 UNOPENED discs! I just wait for the time that I can watch 3 movies a day - probably NEVER, but it's good to know I theoretically could!

    Hehe, careful there, Joe!

I just love to have my selection here, and I know, all of those are titles that I eventually will watch - but, the problem is that too many great movies are coming out! IT DOESN'T STOP!!!!

I have zero unopened DVDs and I purchased every disc after I saw the film first.

I used to have several unopened DVDs, but in light of what happened to me recently, I will be opening up my DVDs as soon as I buy them from now on...
It's also a good idea to watch a DVD as soon as possible so that you can return/exchange it in case of a defective disc...

None here. When I buy a DVD, I intend on viewing it. Now if it were a collectible, that might be different.

None. I open all arrivals immediately for inspection. I do have three unwatched titles, however.

Only four, three of which I've purchased within the last three weeks:
Eight Men Out - I've had this DVD for about a year, and it's a movie I absolutely love. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.
Dr. Strangelove, Innerspace and Memento: All fairly new, ignored stepchildren mired in Scott's Busy Summer.

    Unopened? around 50.
But unwatched (meaning I haven't even watched the feature from start to finish yet) - around 170![IMG]

I've got one, "The Mummy Returns" that I got with "Taxi Driver" (which I watched yesterday) as a two-for-$40 deal. I expect to open and watch it sometime this weekend. The last time I had multiple unopened discs, I had about four.
