I do the same thing. I'm probably within five sets of, spacewise at least, having my TV sets go over the movie space. By the end of the year, I'll definitely have TV sets outpacing movies.

41 titles of series, mini-series, and movies from TV. I'd have double or triple that if I could afford it.

In my furniture I only have a chest of drawers that has 3 shelves that contains my movie DVDs and is completely full. In another cabinet are my Buffy and Angel DVDs. And then finally in my wardrobe is all my other tv dvd series of which have had to be stacked up on one another, with 2 full stacks of movie DVDs beside it. I'm out of room pretty much!! I just don't know what to do. I think I need some new furniture. Lol. But then again I don't know if I want my tv dvds on display because all I do is get criticised for buying them, the only good thing about having them on display is getting to see them all and much easier access. But I have to do something because by the end of the year I will own many many more.

It's pretty impressive. Just recently, I had to box-up A large portion to accomodate all the upcoming TV releases since TV on DVD is my new obsession/priority :D

Haha! Yeah, TV on DVD is my priority too - though not to the same extent as you ;)

My pitiful 40-movie collection now feels even more depressing..! :)

Yeah my collection is pretty extreme but you gotta admit ain't nothin' cooler than looking at Alias/24/Buffy etc back to back without commercial breaks or (even) worse, a whole week of waiting to see what happens next and I won't (even) get into those pesky four to six week re-run periods until sweeps month (Oh the inhumanity!) :D

Ah, it's very true.. nothing beats a whole season of 24 watched over a couple of days with little else except food and sleep! :D After watching it on DVD I don't think I could ever go back to watching it on TV.

Since storage has come up in this thread, here's a question: I'm preparing to move into my dorm room within the next month, and I'm only taking my TV DVDs since that's what I watch more than anything. Would anyone have a suggestion on what to use to store them? I want to use something that can be easily moved multiple times.

Charlie Angels 1

All 3 sets of Gilligan's Island
Miami Vice

Want to get Son of the beach finished. Not continuing Charlies Angels, Magnum, Diff Strokes, Miami Vice cause of comments from other sets. StarTrek sets too expensive.
Will finish only Frasier, and Gilligan's I want the Rescue episodes, I have the Globetrotters one and short lived cartoon GI series on videotape.

For moving around alot. A friend has put favorite dvd's in those cd zippered holders. The empties and other dvd boxes he just stores in boxes.

If you keep them in a DVD/CD wallet make sure you keep your room locked or keep the wallet locked in a trunk! When I was in school, I knew a couple of people who got hundreds of CDs stolen because someone walked into their room and took their CD wallet. It's alot harder to steal a hundred DVDs in their cases than in a small DVD wallet. The unfortunate thing is that it's also a lot harder for you to move them in their cases too.

It sounds paranoid but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

And now back to the main topic of this thread:)

Take it from me, storage in a dorm is tight. I might suggest bringing a CD-Binder and putting your sets in them. It's not ideal, but it's better than not having what you want.

My dorm room (granted it was four years ago) but I had a shelf for DVDs and 2 shelves for books and notes.

Of course this was the start of my DVD collecting days, so I would do it differently now.

cheers, Michael :)
