How is everyone counting e.g. Per box? Per tv show?
For certain tv shows in Australia such as Buffy, Angel and Dark Angel they were released as 2 parts per season.

However the issue was released counted as one in the tally. A season set release counts as one entry, a 'volume' release (Speed Racer or Wiseguy) counts as one entry.

That's the way mine are cataloged.

I store my DVD collection on shelves. I seperate my movie collection from my TV on DVD collection. I'm curious to know how other collectors store their DVD collections.

Here's the funny thing: I was just having this same argument with my room mate (god bless him that he puts up with the 500+ titles.) I have mine sorted alphabetically, mixing movies and TV Shows. I think that it's easier, but not certain.

What type of shelves do people use? I wonder if there is something better than my Hold Everything Media shelves?

I have a library with lots of shelves and store my TV shows on DVD on my custom shelving. I've been replacing my video collection with my TV shows on DVD. (I'll start collecting movies when they're available on HD DVD; until then, my videos will do just fine.) The box sets fit very nicely and I have enough space for at least a thousand box sets without having to move my books, records or video games. So I'm set for a while...except that we're selling the house!

First thing up in the new house, unless we're lucky, but it's been my observation that it's a rare house that has much in the way of bookcases or good shelving, will be custom built oak shelving...

It's a good thing that our local housing "bubble" is so BIG!

I'm using the Ameriwood #DVD2065BGM shelving. These shelves are 60" tall and 20" wide. The box indicates the shelves hold 203DVD's, or 396CD's, or 119VHS tapes. The adjustible shelves will let you mix and match DVD/CD storage. I usually find them for about $40, and they come in black or woodgrain.

I like this setup the best since I can place them around the room where I have space for storage.
