How many speakerbuilders here use Unibox? Do you think its accurate?

I have been using Unibox, but I don't have that much experience. Looking for some others peoples opinions.

    Thanks

I believe Unibox simply uses equations from "Loudspeaker Design Cookbook", so I'm assuming its pretty accurate.

Brian, I think that is only true for the passive filters of Unibox [IMG]

Don't quote me on this Greg, but I think Unibox uses the Benson-Thiele-Small model to simulate subwoofers. Yes, it's accurate, but only to about 300Hz or so (or within the pistonic range of the driver). Beyond that, more complex models must be used to model cone breakup and so on.

I use it and I have compared it to some of the other programs. They're all fairly consistent.

On a related note, has anyone been able to import drive-unit databases into Unibox on Excel v. X (ie Excel for MacOS 10)? I'm not able to do it.

    Peace,

    Jay

From using Unibox and then measuring the driver-in-box impedance curves, it is very accurate. The accuracy of your T/S parameters will be the limiting factor, not Unibox.
