I consider it to be the 4th best movie I've seen in 2001.

The guy who made the movie (Hironobu Sakaguchi, who also makes the games) had a really good idea for the story, told it to two american guys, and then they wrote the script, so if anything, blame the problems with the story on the american guys who wrote it.

, but Vintar and Sakaguchi firmly opposed to it because it went against everything the story stood for.

I was waiting for you to come in here
I just watched this movie again today and found yet something else I didn't catch the first time, which just goes to show how much depth there is to this movie.
On the DVD, they show an alternate/original opening sequence that showed something happen at the crater where the Phantoms were. To tell the truth, I'm glad they left it out.
I think that the movie deserves multiple viewings to get it all. You are just thrown into it and you need to pay attention to find out what happened to lead to this point.
I would love to see that San Francisco opening.
