...and will you buy more? Just curious I guess.

I got in at the end of November. At present, I've got about 30 with 5 from the rebate still expected.

Not sure if I will jump on sales or not.

I got in the middle of September.

I've got 26 HD DVDs so far. I'll take advantage of any sales I can find.

My Toshiba XA2 does such a great job upconverting SD DVDs that I have no regrets.

I sold a bunch of titles earlier this year. I now only own 4(Universal titles), and I'll probably stay with that number,
At Deepdiscount I had about 12 titles on order. I thought hard about it, and cancelled the order. I'll stick with Blu-Ray now.

I've got 35 HD DVDs currently, and I got in around August of 2006.

Whether or not I buy more is heavily dependent on two things: 1) their price (I simply cannot see spending any more than $10 or less on single-disc titles and $15 or less on double-disc ones at this stage of the game), and 2) the title itself (a lot of titles that didn't sell well aren't going to be rushed to Blu-ray Disc in my opinion). That said, there are still maybe only 10 or so HD DVD releases out or coming out that I would feel compelled to own under these circumstances.

I bought a player in October '06 and in that time have amassed 30 titles(5 of which were FREE). Don't know if I'll be buying anymore, but I could be tempted if the closeout sales are good enough(eg. titles for $8-10). Compared to my DVD buying habits of 3-5 years ago I was VERY restrained buying HD-DVDs. ;)

52 titles. Got in November 06 with the release of the XBox 360 add-on. My buying got very aggressive last summer, but had tapered off around Christmas when more titles I wanted started popping up on BD.

Last disc I bought was Pride and Prejudice which I picked up on an Amazon BOGO. Zodiac Director's Cut will likely be the last HD-DVD title I purchase (getting it next week).

I may be tempted if there are some ridiculous "going out of business" sales. And I must get around to purchasing "Mutiny on the Bounty" as I doubt it will ever see the light of day on Blu-Ray (at least for a loooong time).

Hmmm...I don't know off hand how many I have. I would guess 20 or so, but I have been lowering the number recently and I tried to be prudent with my purchases. I sold my Harry Potter box set and will replace it with the Blu version. I also exchanged my Blade Runner disc tonight. I am not intending to buy anymore HD DVDs, but I won't say never. Oh. and I am still waiting for my five free discs.

I've currently got about 20 titles. I'll continue to pick up ones that I don't think are going to be moving to Blu-ray anytime soon (mostly Universal) and will sell off any that I do decide to replace. I'm not in a big hurry to replace any at the moment unless the newer Blu-ray release really adds something of value (i.e. extras, lossless audio, etc). I may even pick up a stray HD DVD title here or there if the price is right ($10-12).

About 40 or so (including the five free ones--some are in transit so I don't know the exact number). I will buy any Universal titles that interest me and anything I consider a bargain. Until a few days ago, I'd have said I'd continue to buy regularly, but if Toshiba is going to kill all hardware production right away (I have to admit I thought they'd keep it as a feature in "upconverting" players going forward--like Divx or hi-res audio--so I didn't feel too concerned about amassing a larger library), I will buy only those titles that are exclusive to HD DVD that really want, are bargains and/or (in the case of some Warner catalogue titles, especially) those that seem unlikely to appear in "blu" anytime soon. Not that I'm afraid my A2 will die suddenly or soon, but between being a niche product (like hi-res audio) and "not a product" (like Beta or laserdisc), there is a different tolerance for risk--at least for me.

I bought in on day one, (actually a day or two before that). I bought my HD-A1 on 4-14-06, almost 2 years ago. Amazing how time has flowen. I believe I was the first to post on AVS with an actual player in my hand, boy that was a crazy thread.

I have roughly 50+ titles and when the sales hit I'll be buying more and an additional player or two.

I got in at the $98 dollar sale and have 12 discs. If I can get some more on clearance, I will. I'd like to get a backup player too.

I have around 40 and something like 20 coming from the recent "clearance-sales". What I can I do, I love films more than formats.. ;)

Most of these 40-60 titles have been bought from these Amazon/Deepdiscount-sales. Not many in "regular price".

When I started buying 3 of both formats, halfway 2006, it was very unfortunate that The Fifth Element was one of the BDs, because the experience made me hold off for several months (I now have the replacement version too).

I got an HD DVD player (Toshiba HD-A1, imported US version) in September 2006.

Currently I have 165 HD DVDs, and 6 in the mail. Total of 171.
I also own 23 Blu-ray discs, and 2 in the mail. Current total 25.

I only own four HD-DVD titles, which I acquired shortly after I purchased my player in October '06.

I decided early on that I would use the player for SD-DVDs (which I'm still purchasing at a fairly regular clip); and just rent HD-DVDs until the format war reached a resolution. (I'm also a big Disney classic animation fan, so I knew I would probably have to go Blu or "purple" at some point unless Disney started releasing titles to "Total HD" (Ha!!))

I'll need to acquire "Blu" iterations of the four titles that I do own, since they're among my favorites: "Apollo 13", "Forbidden Planet", Peter Jackson's "King Kong", and "Blazing Saddles". And I have to say that these are all outstanding transfers which look and sound better than any SD-DVD could -- even on my modest primary display (an Infocus 4805 front projector).

I came very close to purchasing the recent Paramount "Star Trek: Season 1" HD set which was released to DVD/HD-DVD combo discs. I'm glad now that I was able to hold off. Hopefully, that set will be re-released to BD soon.

BTW, I *have* purchased one Blu-ray title, even though I don't own a deck yet: "Stargate". I haven't been happy with *any* of the SD-DVD releases of this title, and the reviewers all stated that the transfer on the "Blu" disc was much better than even the most recent SD-DVD iteration. Can't wait to view it!

Own 38 HD DVD titles including the Star Trek set (have over 100 Blu-ray titles)

Got Blu-Ray first in Jan last year then HD DVD April last year

I probably won't be buying any more HD DVD even heavily discounted mostly because I have everything that's currently out that I'd want to own.

Was also thinking up picking up a spare HD DVD player but I've decided not to. I'm just going to cut my losses.

I bought an A1 in I believe April or May of 2006. I'll probably be getting an A30 or A35 from amazon (the a30 is under $150) and keep the A1 as a back up player. I have about 85 HD DVDs.

I got into blu-ray about 6 months later.

I bought my first HD DVD and Blu-ray players at the same time in June, 2006. The HD DVD player arrived first by about a week or so. Now, I have six players evenly divided between the two formats while waiting patiently for the BD-50 to get released. Those two first generation players have been retired to backup status.:) I will use my two XA-2 players in each of my two Home theaters to play my HD DVDs and SD DVDs. My Samsung-1400 and Panny BD-30 are utilized strictly for BRD.

At one time in 2006, I had about 50 HD DVD to about 10 BRD due to more HD DVD available to buy during the first six months of the format war. Now, I have 170 BRD with several more on pre-order to about 160 HD DVD with no preorders. I won't replace any of the HD DVDs with BRD, unless, the BRD has improve specs like lossless audio. However, BOGO sales could alter that plan.:)

Bought a refurb HD A1 for $300 shipped back in October of 2006, and about nine titles with it. Built up to a collection of about 30 movies since then (the majority of them being Universal favorites of mine that weren't on Blu, and WB stuff I wanted that wasn't on Blu or wasn't spec'd as high on Blu due to studio tomfoolery).

A couple of months later Sony announced Casino Royale and Rocky Balboa coming out on back to back weeks, and I knew it was time to start saving up for the PS3 (the only Blu player worth owning until the upcoming Panny is out). Bought a used 20 gig PS3 in February '07 for $429 (back when they were $499 new) and I have loved Blu and HD DVD both ever since. In terms of technical quality (that extra capacity and bandwidth make a difference even when your display is only 32" - especially when your receiver can do multichannel PCM), Blu became my preference, but my title count on both formats was literally dead even (right around 30 on each format) when the news came down (though I had ceased consdering buying any new HD DVDs once the WB announcment hit). I don't do impulse buys on movies, and only buy movies that I REALLY love, so I have always done a good amount of renting throughout this war.
