How long can a DVI cable be? (1 Viewer)

I am going to buy a Samsung DLP set in the summer.

The issue is stand vs. pedestal. My equipment racks are about ten feet from my display. I will want a DVI-equipped DVD player with the new Sammy.

If I get the pedestal set (which I prefer), the DVD player will be 10 feet from the set. A "tabletop" model, OTOH, has room underneath for a DVD player and a 3 foot cable.

Does it make a difference?

10' should be fine, as long as you buy a reasonably high quality cable.
