How high should my sub legs be? (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

I'm putting the finishing touches on my downfiring av12 sub, just wondering what the most typical height for legs is? I was thinking 4", does it really make a difference if it's 3" or 5"?

No less than 3"

Most people do around 4" though.

Any more is just personal aestetic preference, it will not change performance.

I went with 3" legs and with a flush mounted woofer it seems like more than enough. Next time (if there is a next time) I may go 2 1/2. I noticed that the legs on my SVS are exactly 2" and the woofer is NOT flush mounted so there's actually less than 2" between the woofer and the baseplate. But I wouldn't be terribly surprised if Tom actually designed this as some sort of resistive loading for the woofer.

I think I'll go with 2 1/2...I wanna go as low as possible for looks. Thanks for the help guys.

I'd make them just high enough to reach the sub.
