How heavy can center channel be on Mits 55"? (1 Viewer)

I've got a new Mits 55" (55313 I think) and just order the JBL EC35 center channel speaker that weighs 22 pounds.

Will I have any problems placing this fairly heavy speaker on top of the Mits? I'm wondering if the top casing of the TV can take that much weight right in the center of it?

If you are concern about the weight from your center channel, try a stand. It works well and I think it's like $30.

One suggestion in the Mitsubishi forum at Home Theater Spot was to get a piece of glass cut to fit on top of the TV. Get rubber pads from Lowes or Home Depot to fit under each end. That takes the weight off of the center and puts it on each side of the TV. My solution is have a custom cabinet built around my 55411. The shelf above the TV is 1.5" thick and should hold my 40 pound DIY center channel without any problems.
