I last tweaked the TV when it was new around July/August 2005 with the help of a Home Theater DVD. How frequently should this be done for optimum performance. I have a Toshiba 57H83.

Well, if you did it in Aug. 05, then you are already ahead of schedule ;) Once I adjust, I don't usually check it again for about a year.

Cliff, picture settings should remain the same. What you need to check is the set's convergence. (The CRTs will require periodic convergence.)

Oh ya, convergence is a big thing. I do mine very often. The auto convergence on my tv hitachi 51F500 is crap. It really needs to be done manually. I ususally do it every couple of weeks, or just before I have people over to watch a movie. :) quick question, is is just CRT tvs that need convergence? is it a non-problem with DLP or LCD?
