Not exactly. I don't care what those Christian Bible dictionaries and lexicons say, it's a mis-translation. You are confusing the Hebrew name "Kalev" (preonounced kah-lev) with the hebrew word for dog "kelev" (pronounced keh-lev). There is a difference of one vowel.

In German I'm called Kah-lep. In French I'm Kah-leb.
