I looked all over the net via searches for a recipe and couldn't find one. Thing is, I have a soda fountain that makes all the carbonated water I could ever need, and I'd like to be able to make my own Tonic.

    Any guesses or insight?

Tonic water is soda water with quinine and a little sugar. You would have to get a source for quinine, which is actually a malaria treatment. The gin and tonic was a popular drink among the British in India because it killed two birds with one stone, treated malaria and got you snockered at the same time.[IMG]

So, let's just say I wanted to fill a jacuzzi with carbonated water.... you could hook me up?

This is all hypothetical, of course.

And on the G&T front, when I lived in Singapore, I quickly learned to keep not only numerous bottles of tonic in the refrigerator, but a bottle of gin as well.

There is nothing in a hot, humid climate that is so refreshing as a G&T.

Quinine is available over the counter in some states. My Mum gets it in WA with no problems. When she came to visit me in CA she was not able to get it. Just check with your local pharmacy. I think it may help with severe muscle cramps.

There's a variant, called Bitter Lemon, that really works quite well also. Same idea - uses a strong lemonade and adds quinine.
