All great suggestions. A lot of them I've actually used in the past! 
Maybe sometimes I get too caught up in the hardware, and forget that the software is why all of us got into music in the 1st place. Have to check out some of those suggestions...
The local radio station here is really big on notlame.com (I just signed up for their new stuff update). I'll have to try and find that Magnet Magazine too.
I do like the idea of: "if you like this band, and this other band, and this band over here, then give this band a try" ...
