How do Video Games look line doubled on a Sony XBR-450? (1 Viewer)

I have read that line doubled games look "strange" but I'm not sure what that means. Has anyone seen them on a line-doubled T.V and would you recommend an analog T.V instead if games are going to be used? The reason I ask is because I plan on getting either a Sony Wega FS-13 or an XBR-450 and I want the best set for games and regular cable. Can the line doubler in the XBR be disabled? Thanks a lot.
