I am about to buy a Rotel RB 985 mkII power amp for my Denon 3802. What kind of interconnects would I need to make this work? I am truly a separates novice. Sorry. :b

all you need is one interconnecter (rca) for each channel that you want the rotel to power...preout from denon -> rca -> to amp

I'm interested in more information about this too ... I'm assuming there's more to it than bringing home an amp and plugging it in to your receiver. Does anyone know of any articles about this online?

No that's about all there is to it. Remember, you don't have to use external amps for all of the channels. Many people just use external amps for the mains or the front 3.
