How do I remove MS Office Shortcut Bar?

    The subject says it all...

    I thought I would like having a shorcut bar on my PC (old pc running W2K with Office 2000)....honestly I hate it and want to remove it, but can't figure out how!!

    Any ideas?

    I think you just right click on the bar (not on a button) and edit the properties.

    Another way, buy Office 2003. They did away with the shortcut bar in that version - [​IMG]

    Right clicking on the darn bar and adjusting any properties in hopes of deleting, or hiding it permanently caused a pop up saying "You can't hide the complete bar" or something like that..

    It's a real pain and I'm pissed I tried using it.

    Argggh!

    I think you can remove it from the Start->All Programs->Starup folder. I think that's how I got rid of it, but it was a couple years ago, so I'm not so sure.

    Right click on it and choose "close" or "exit". When it closes you'll get a pop-up window asking if you want to automatically load the shortcut bar the next time you start windows. Say "No" and it will not reappear.
