How do I hook all these toys up now?? (1 Viewer)

I have searched for this information but haven't gotten a clear answer. I need to know what all I will need to hook up my TV, receiver, DirecTivo, DVD player, VCR, and speakers. (cables, speaker wire, banana plugs, interconnectors?)

Please tell me what I will need to purchase and the best place to purchase them.

Maybe browse through some of this info and then post again with further questions/concerns?

I'd suggest before you measure/order wires, try laying things out in your rack according to these guidelines:

- Put the receiver on the bottom shelf. This allows the speaker wires to flow out without obscuring the other equipment.

- Leave a good 8 inches above the receiver open for venting.

- Put the DVD/VCR units (things you have to touch) on the top shelves.

- Put the CATV/DSS receivers above the AV receiver

Now you have a smart placement in your rack. Measure the lengths you need for interconnects.
