hi all -
i have a notebook running win98 at home. it used to be hooked up at work, where a login was needed. since it is now a stand-alone, is there anyway to get it to bypass the login screen?

Go to network properties, change Primary Network Logon to "Windows Logon" (if it isn't already).
Then do a file search for *.pwl (all password list files) and delete all of the results. I think this should take care of it, but it's been a while since I've had to do it.

Right click on 'network neighbourhood.' Select properties. The 'Primary Network Login' combo box probably has 'client for microsoft networks' selected. Change it to Windows Logon. Reboot. Don't supply a password when it asks on reboot, and it should leave you be. If not, delete all of the .pwl files from your windows directory, reboot, then don't supply a password.
