I've got the Component cable, and the game is set to 16:9 but my TV (Sony 57" XBR) still says its 480i. It works great with the Xbox, that has a switch for progressive. Any ideas?

If you hold B while turning the console on, some games will have a little thing pop up that asks if you want the game to be in Progressive Mode or not. Try that.

Bingo, thanks... so where in the docs does it tell you that? Either I'm blind or Nintendo should have made it more clear.

Yeah, it's about as intuitive as sticking a paper clip in a Mac to get a floppy disc out. [IMG]

I think that it's either in the booklets for the individual games or it's in the instructions to the component cables.

I got my component cables the week after I got my GameCube (back in November or early December) so I don't remember what the cables came in. Either way, you now know how to enable the progressive mode.
