My receiver (pioneer vsx-d850s) states in the manual that it will play it. Is it my CD player that determines whether or not this audio can be played? I have an apex ad-600a and a sony jukebox. I have the dvd player hooked up via a coaxial digital cable. The cd player is hooked up via rca cables.

There are some early DVDs with 2 channel PCM 96/24 music tracks. I havn't seen to many of those. All I have is samples.

If you do get a PCM 96/24 music DVD, your DVD player must be able to pass the signal to the receiver via the digital output. If not, its 48kHz.

In that case, I doubt my DVD player will do that. I will look into it more once I get a new one.

Thanks!
