i know this is a hardcore brain fart on my part, but (for the life of me) i can't figure out how to do it.

i wanna dial a number that looks like this (number changed to protect the rights of the innocent):

+12 12 1234 1234

i tried dialing both a 1 and a 0 first.

:b

Isn't it something like dial 1 011 then your country code and then the phone number ?

For normal lines you need to dial 011 and then the rest of the number given to you.

In Ted's case: 011 12 12 1234 1234

Yes, according to my handy AT&T wallet reference card, its as follows:

"To call countries other than the U.S., enter 011 + the Country Code + the City Code + the local number."

Since this is for a calling card, I would imagine you need the 1 to prefix the entire string if calling from your home phone.

No, do NOT dial 1 first. The first numbers you dial are 011, followed by the international code for that country, followed by the area code, followed by the number.

To call a number in Stockholm, Sweden for example:

011 to "open the line" for international calls

46 which is the code for Sweden.

8, for the area code. The actual area code is 08, but the 0 is omitted when calling from abroad, just to make it more complicated I'm sure. :)

1234567 which would be the phone number locally.

011 46 8 1234567.
