I own the Sony KP-53HS10 RPTV. I am converting from Directv DBS to HD DirecTV. I also have a Progressive Scan DVD that I now have connected via RGB to Video 5. As the book states, my HD TV must connect thru Video 5, so I have to move my DVD to another Video port. How do I connect so I can still use my DVD for movies in 480p and get my HD TV also? How should I best set up the TV inputs so I can continue to enjoy both digital DVDs and HDTV? The newer Sonys have a Video 6 for this purpose; mine only has Videos 1 thru 5, with Video 5 being the only HD input.
I REALLY apprecaite any help I can get with this. I would even buy a selctor switch if thereis one.

    Thanks for the help.

    /s/ Floyd

480p is not HD video. You should be able to hook up the DVD player to any component video input on the display. Just has to be able to accept a progressive input.

Are you saying you only have 1 component input period? If so, you will need a switcher.

Not to familure with that Sony is all.

From the equipment that you have listed, you have a receiver.

Why not have the receiver do all of your video switching?

    Can it do video switching?
