I know there are various sprays out there that claim to protect leather from water. However, I'm looking for one that won't damage the leather itself while offering protection from rain and snow. Any recommendations folks? Thanks!

you might look at some of the saddlesoap, it's pretty commonly used on motorcycle leathers to weatherproof them a bit, shouldn't damage it.
just remember if you do get the leather wet let it hang dry, NO heat on it :)
