Hi I dabble in a little music making and this weekend I recorded my first song using a 4-track that my friend gave me. Anyway it turned out pretty good but by the time it was all done and I transfered it over to my computer it has got a pretty good amount of hiss to it.

Is there a good wav editing software or something that would be able to remove it for me? Sort of like Dolby noise reduction on a tape player.

Thanks,
Chris Dias

Also, if you can get your hands on CoolEdit (I think that is the name). If you can get a clean sample of that hiss, like in a part where there is no other sound, you can tell the program to remove that sample from the entire file.

Adobe bought the Cool Edit software from Syntrillium and it's now called Adobe Audition. Same software with a different label on it.
