Since winning an action for these, I've heard they only go up to 14kHz and now I'm told I'll need to use a sub with them as they don't go down so low.

There are a pair of MGMC1s on ebay which I know are much better than 1Bs but they are 80-24kHz +-3dB and most others on the magnepan web site are around this or better.

Can anyone help with this out of date model?

    Johnny,

Response to 14kHz will be fine in most cases – there’s much happening above that point. The Maggies are not noted for their extension (as is the case with most planar speakers), so you will need a sub.

Thanks Joe, that's made me one VERY happy chappy.

45Hz-18kHz ±3dB so I can knock my sub back down to where it was & not rely on it for accurate bass as it's quite a cheap sub.
