They did that here in Vermont last week. Big box stores can only sell food, health products, and hardware. Aisles with clothing, electronics, toys, beauty products, jewelry, books, etc., are all closed off. I needed ink for my printer since we're supposed to work from home, but couldn't get it at Walmart. I had to go to Staples.What I don't understand if you're limiting the amount of people in the stores then why are you restricting them from buying certain products. To me, that's BS as people who are stuck at home can't even complete some home projects now. IMO, the Covid-19 issues here in Michigan has nothing to do with the selling of those products.
The thinking around here was that a trip to the big stores is one of the only things to do these days, and people were out and about shopping out of boredom, for things that were not "essential," rather than staying at home. The governor is trying to discourage this, so he restricted what the big stores can sell.
