I have a couple of questions about "Hotel," the 1983-88 ABC series from Aaron Spelling, set in the fictional St. Gregory Hotel in San Francisco and starring James Brolin, Connie Sellecca, et al.:

1. How good of a series was it? If it was any good, I may give thought to purchasing it on DVD when or if it is released.

2. If it is released on DVD, would it be from CBS-Paramount (a.k.a. CBS DVD), considering that Paramount owns certain Spelling series now ("Dynasty" being among them)?

All I know is I thought it was a very good show, good stories, and would like to see it released.

I believe it would be CBS/Paramount, as it was a product of "Aaron Spelling Productions". Other Spelling entities have sold their libraries elsewhere (e.g. Spelling-Goldberg Productions all went to Sony), but Hotel, unless there is some strange situation with the original source material, should be in the same library as Dynasty.

Thanks, both of you, for the answers. One more question-- if it is released, will it be in solid season sets or in volume releases? (When I said "solid season sets," I meant releases with the whole season in one package, as most releases are, and as most of us prefer having our releases.)

I loved the show and would buy it in a heartbeat. I can't believe it hasn't been released yet. It's one of my all-time favorites.
